Streator native, Ken Knight, has been making his mark in the contemporary art world for many years. Painting his vision of the world around him has taken him from Streator to Chicago to New York to Italy and most recently to Portugal, where he continues to create his Mondrian-inspired work that seeks to create order out of chaos.
His vibrantly colored works grace the walls of homes and businesses throughout the US and Europe. NCI ARTworks is honored to receive 70 of his pieces as a donation to fund the continuing operation of the non-profit arts agency, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2026.
Included with his generous donation of original artwork are unfinished pieces that he has collaborated with notable contemporary artist, Lorena Malm, to complete. The vibrant colors of Knight’s work and hard lines of some of the pieces are softened in some cases and enhanced in others with Malm’s brushwork and layering. This is an absolutely unprecedented collaboration for the NCI ARTworks Gallery, and as such, it further elevates the already high artistic standards of NCI ARTworks exhibitions.
The Ken Knight artwork will be on exhibit and available for purchase at both the NCI ARTworks Gallery in the west wing of the historic Westclox building and in the Utica Welcome Center operated by the Heritage Corridor Destinations Group from January to March of 2026. The Utica Welcome Center is open Monday through Sunday from noon to 6pm, while the NCI ARTworks Gallery is open MWF from 1 to 4pm and by appointment by emailing: [email protected]
