On Friday, June 12, 2026, NCI ARTworks’ executive director, Sara O’Dell, and IVCC Art Department Director, Shannon Slaight, will announce the winners of the juried art exhibition at the opening reception for the Emerging Artists of the Illinois Valley at NCI ARTworks Gallery from 6 to 8pm.
The opening reception is located at the NCI ARTworks Gallery in the west wing of the Westclox building at 400 5th Street in Peru. The reception begins at 6pm, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards will be presented at 7pm. The opening reception is free, and all are welcome. 
Over 50 artists from throughout the Illinois Valley have submitted art pieces to be juried by NCI ARTworks for the annual Emerging Artists Exhibit. The awards will be presented at 7pm on June 12, 2026. 
This unique exhibition is a collaboration between the IVCC Art Department and NCI ARTworks; it includes a wide variety of styles and subjects: from realism to abstract in acrylics, oils, photography, sculptures, and mixed media to landscapes and portraiture, nature and architecture.
The NCI ARTworks opening reception for the two-month-long Emerging Artists exhibition is free and all are welcome. It begins at 6pm on Friday, June 12, and more information about the event can be found at www.nciartworks.com.​

NCI ARTworks is a regional arts agency, a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and expanding the arts community in LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam Counties through artistic collaboration, educational outreach, and art space development. Its mission also is to create venues which support public and private education, community events, economic development, and cultural tourism. NCI ARTworks is located in the Westclox ARTworks Center in the west wing of the Westclox building in Peru.
