Here's What's Happening in October

Picture
NCI ARTworks to host “Season of Color,” an exhibition of works by Keisha Acuff, Lorena Malm, and Ray Cox on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6 to 8pm at the NCI ARTworks Gallery in Peru.

NCI ARTworks to host the outstanding work of nationally acclaimed abstract and digital artist Lorena Malm as well as local naturescape photographer Ray Cox and mixed media artist Keisha Acuff.

Keisha Acuff is a published author and artist based in Varna, Illinois. She works with acrylic, oil and watercolors while also finding time to run her family farm and write. She spends a good amount of time searching for new artistic outlets, such as her recent pieces in mixed media that incorporate found objects with traditional or abstract renderings of flowers and faces. Her work can be found on most major platforms under the name Acuff Creations or Keisha Acuff.

Ray Cox’s large-scale naturescapes capture the beauty of the Illinois Valley. His use of light and perspective distinguish his work from many others in the field. Cox has been working in the field of photography for decades, and his work graces the walls of businesses and homes throughout the Midwest.

The art of Lorena Malm expresses her desire to make a difference in the lives of others by bringing beauty to the world through art. She creates art with the intention of connecting with the viewer. Her thought-provoking and whimsical pieces illustrate the beauty and complexity of her view of the world around her. Her abstract images of fire and flood and tragedy and heartbreak are juxtaposed against sensual images of love and passion. There is a sense of overcoming life’s challenges with serenity and dignity in all of her work.

The NCI ARTworks opening reception for the month-long “Season of Color” exhibition is free and all are welcome. It begins at 6pm on Friday, August 10th, and more information about the event can be found at www.nciartworks.com.
