Artists' Statements:
Jacki Musser--I studied art in High School. I used to draw: pencil, chalk, etc, and I loved it, but earning a living and taking care of my kids and family and farm animals, got in the way of my artistic endeavors. Every so often, though, I would "attempt" to take photos of my horses. I wasn't confident about the quality of my photography skills until someone at my work saw my pictures and asked me to upload them to our work FaceBook page.
I started bringing my camera to work -- then a co-worker showed me how to go off program mode -- and BAM...PHOTOGRAPHY became my escape, my passion--the thing I really wanted to do in my very limited free time. I would rather spend 4 hours out sitting in the front yard waiting for that ONE perfect shot of a hummingbird or freezing my toes off in 20 below temps waiting for an eagle to come down and snatch up a fish from the Illinois River than doing anything else.
Photography has taken me a lot of places, and it helped me connect with my two boys a lot more on our trips - especially my youngest, Ben. Ben started doing photography at age 13, and until 2016 we had booths at art fairs, where we would sell our photography all over Illinois on weekends. I've photographed images at quite a few National Parks, have traveled twice to Alaska...and fell in love with Montana! I've had the most amazing experiences photographing wildlife and have met amazing people along the way!
Bob Zeglis--
Throughout my entire life I shot pictures as a hobby. I really enjoyed it, but work and life got in the way of being able to make it much more than a hobby. When retirement came, I finally had the time to hone my shills and dedicate time to shooting interesting pictures. Friends and family began taking notice of my work and encouraged me to offer my works for sale. This is my first professional exhibition. My preferred subjects are landscape, wildlife, and macro photography of flowers.
