From Harm to Hope: Multi-Artist Retrospective of Trauma & Recovery
September is Recovery Month. NCI ARTworks is partnering with The Perfectly Flawed Foundation to create awareness of the serious issues of substance use, personal trauma, and recovery. The art in this exhibition focuses not only on the devastating effects individuals and families experience, but also the successes that have been achieved through programs to destigmatize and assist the affected people.
In addition, we were honored to host White House Office of National Drug Control Policy Senior Policy Analyst, Peter Gaumond, who was our the guest speaker for this unique, multi-artist exhibition, showcasing work by and about substance abuse, trauma, and recovery.
Numerous artists from throughout the US have submitted art related to the topic. For a sneak peek of their work, check out the video of their work above. Many of the original works will be on display during the month-long exhibit at the NCI ARTworks Gallery in the historic Westclox Building in Peru.
An opening reception for the month-long From Harm to Hope exhibit took place on September 8th at the NCI ARTworks Gallery from 6 to 9pm.
Opening receptions at NCI ARTworks are always free and all are welcome.
