Town & Country Youth art show 2024
PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG ARTISTS TO GAIN EXPERIENCE Exhibiting THEIR ART IN PUBLIC
Illinois Valley Middle and High School Teachers...To participate in the Town & Country Youth Art Show, follow these three important steps:
Step one: If your school and/or students are interested in participating, please email [email protected] by February 23, 2024 and let us know you’re in! We will email you tags for your students' artwork submissions.
Step two: Students and/or their teachers need to submit the excel spreadsheet entry form by March 22, 2024. Request the spreadsheet by emailing: [email protected]
Step three: Print and attach the name tags for artwork that you/your students are submitting.
* Please print the tags for High School Student submissions on white paper.
* Please print the Middle School student submissions on light blue paper.
* Fill them out and attach the tags to the lower right hand corner of the artwork.
Once teachers and/or students have submitted the required entry form, prepared, and tagged their artwork, they will be required to bring it to the NCI ARTworks Gallery to be set up for display prior to the show. We encourage artwork to be dropped off the evening before the show on Friday, April 19, 2024, 4:00-6:00 pm.
Follow the signage to locate the drop off location. All submissions will be judged the day of the art show between the hours of 10:00-12:00 pm. All artwork is to be picked up the same day between 2:00-3:00 pm. Please note, no artwork may leave the show before 2:00 pm.
The official show opening will be 12:00 pm with the announcing of Division Winners, along with the Best of Show Award. From 12:00- 2:00 the show will be open for public viewing. All entries will receive a certificate of recognition. A Blue, Red, White, or Green ribbon will be given to the artwork meeting judging qualifications. Best of Show Ribbons will be awarded to each division (grades 5-8 & 9-12) in 2D and 3D. In addition, the Best of Show Ribbon recipients will be awarded $50. A list of all winners will be emailed to participating schools. All blue ribbon winners are eligible to enter the state Town and Country Art competition in Champaign in the fall. Teachers will receive that information and are responsible for entering artwork at their discretion. Details will follow after the April show.
If you have any questions about the process or what we might be able to do to help, please email [email protected] We hope to hear from you. We look forward to an exciting presentation of art from our young local artists.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Smucker, Town & Country Youth Show Chairperson
